Swamp milkweed

plant profile

Swamp Milkweed (Asclepias incarnata) has brilliant clusters of fragrant lilac-pink flowers, which bloom continuously for weeks from mid-summer to early fall. Swamp Milkweed is also referred to as Rose Milkweed, Red Milkweed, and Marsh Milkweed. Swamp milkweed is well behaved in the garden and will grow in clumps rather than becoming invasive and spreading out with far-reaching underground rhizomes.
